These St. Elmo Smash Burgers are a bold, restaurant-quality twist on a classic smash burger recipe. Made with juicy 80/20 ground beef, seasoned with St. Elmo Seasoning, and cooked on a Blackstone griddle, these burgers deliver crispy, caramelized edges and melty American cheese in every bite.

Ingredients

    blank

    • 2 lbs 80/20 ground beef
    • 2 tsp St. Elmo Seasoning
    • 4 burger buns
    • 8 slices American cheese

    blank

    • ¼ cup St. Elmo Creamy Horseradish
    • 2 tbsp ketchup
    • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
    • 1 tbsp pickle relish

    blank

    • Sliced onion
    • Lettuce
    • Tomato

    Directions

    1. Divide the ground beef into 8 loosely packed 4-ounce balls and keep refrigerated until ready to cook.
    2. Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat for 10–15 minutes. Lightly oil the cooking surface.
    3. In a small bowl, combine St. Elmo Creamy Horseradish, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish to make the burger sauce. Set aside.
    4. Toast the burger buns on the griddle until golden brown and set aside.
    5. Place the beef balls on the hot griddle and immediately smash each one thin using a burger press or sturdy spatula with parchment paper. Season with St. Elmo Seasoning.
    6. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the edges are browned and crispy. Flip, top each patty with a slice of American cheese, and cook for 1–2 minutes more.
    7. Spread burger sauce on the toasted buns. Stack two patties on each bun and top with onion, lettuce, and tomato.
