Fried Shrimp Platter with Tartar Sauce

These golden, crunchy fried shrimp are ideal for parties and gatherings. Lightly seasoned, shallow-fried, and served with St. Elmo Tartar Sauce, they’re an easy, delicious crowd favorite.

Ingredients

For the Shrimp

  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup finely ground cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp Blackened Seasoning
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • Vegetable oil, for shallow frying

For Serving

  • St. Elmo Tartar Sauce

Directions

1. Bread the Shrimp

Whisk together milk and eggs. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, and Cajun seasoning; season with salt and pepper. Dip shrimp into the milk mixture, then dredge in the dry mixture until fully coated.

2. Fry

Heat about 2 inches of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry shrimp until crispy and golden, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel–lined tray.

3. Serve

Arrange fried shrimp on a platter. Serve warm with generous bowls of St. Elmo Tratar Sauce for dipping.
