These golden, crunchy fried shrimp are ideal for parties and gatherings. Lightly seasoned, shallow-fried, and served with St. Elmo Tartar Sauce, they’re an easy, delicious crowd favorite.
Ingredients
½ cup whole milk
2 large eggs
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup finely ground cornmeal
1 Tbsp Blackened Seasoning
Salt & pepper
1 lb shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
Vegetable oil, for shallow frying
St. Elmo Tartar Sauce
Directions
1. Bread the Shrimp
Whisk together milk and eggs. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, and Cajun seasoning; season with salt and pepper. Dip shrimp into the milk mixture, then dredge in the dry mixture until fully coated.
2. Fry
Heat about 2 inches of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry shrimp until crispy and golden, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel–lined tray.
3. Serve
Arrange fried shrimp on a platter. Serve warm with generous bowls of St. Elmo Tratar Sauce for dipping.
